Sunsets to Chase
Two weeks until retirement. Our 3,200+ sq ft house—once a museum of 20 years of sentimental clutter—is shrinking into a new to us Dodge Caravan and then six suitcases. We’re playing Tetris with nostalgia.
Our rule: keep what we need and the rest is just stuff. It’s amazing how much builds over a couple decades and company moves that have allowed us to not make the hard decisions earlier. Many memories are jostled and brought back to the forefront as we root through the basement and pack tubs to dispose. We donate what we think others may be able to use and grudgingly let go of everything else. It took several weeks and even more van loads to move out many things and still have the big furniture that won’t go with us. Soon that will be gone as we leave our house for the past decade and embark on the next chapter in our life.
We’re swapping big furniture for sunsets, basement boxes for airport lounges, and a forever home for a string of new addresses. The adventure begins soon.
